Taking up on the Original Red Faction and set 50 years after the events of that game, Guerrilla is a TPS that does not fail to impress. Bionic Commando For the PS3 Game Review

Bionic Commando from Capcom isn’t the most exciting game around though it has a few moments of it’s own. This Third Person Action game puts so many possibilities before you. In a minute they are replaced by others - like a tease. The gunplay is limp and aside from a few good moments this game is the average of average games…nothing special really.

There are ideational errors in the creation of this game. The good aspects are eclipsed by other ideas…like a group project gone wrong. Although the bionic arm is fun, it can’t carry the game to the level of real enjoyment.

Afro Samurai for the PS3 Review

The popular anime series is now on the Playstation. Afro Samurai with Samuel L. Jacksons voice is a pleasure to play. Assassins, Ninjas and Thugs are your foes that you get to slice and dice. Japan is feuding - as the backdrop to the story and Afro’s father has been murdered. With the murder of Afro’s father, Justice claimed the number 1 headband and he now has powers like a god. Afro has the number 2 headband and everybody can challenge him for it.

The combat is stylistic, balanced and acrobatic. There are so many ways to slice and dismember enemies. Two buttons control the major amount of fighting. The Deep Throat Killer move is particularly violent. There is also a Focus maneuvre which allows you to slow down time. If you know anything of the original series and have liked it then you will like this game.

Killzone 2 for the PS3 Game Review

Killzone 2 has been created by Guerilla Games and is a bestseller on Amazon. This FPS game. It is a sequel in the Killzone series and has been creating excitement before its release. The Helghast war machine is the enemy and you play Sev, a battle hardened soldier. The ISA legion squad is deployed behind enemy lines in harsh terrain, this is how the game opens.

The AI is brilliant and the animations are very lifelike. The Helghans have the advantage of home turf and use it to their maximum benefit. The weapons are exotic and combined with the first person perspective, heighten the excitement. The vehicles are tough and sometimes awkward and take the strategy perspective to a whole different level.

Valkyria Chronicles for The PS3 Game Review

If you are a PS3 owner who has been thirsting for a big RPG, then maybe the Valkyria Chronicles may quench your thirst. This visual treat features pretty watercolor graphics as well as gameplay that will leave you satiated. The battle system is turn based and is dubbed “blitz”. Sega Game Studios, Japan developed the new CANVAS engine in Japan.

The story setting is like 1935 Europe, but fictional. Warring superpowers are after a resource called ragnite that is found in Gallia and this is what the story centers around. Welkin and Alicia are two of the main characters and the story revolves around them. It is similar to tactical RPG’s but different in that you can roam the area and are not limited to the chessboard style movements.

Silent Hill Review: Horror On Your PS3

Silent Hill, Konami’s horror video game is on the PS3 and Xbox 360 for the first time. This game is really unsettling. The intro is creepy and the look of the game is enough to make you want to crap. It is enjoyably scary horror. You see through the eyes of the protagonist as he is strapped down in a stretcher and being led through a medical center. Looking around you see people being tortured

Soon you are in the operating room while a strange creature waits outside. As you escape from the stretcher, you can explore the world of Silent hill. With a bit of inspiration from Resident Evil, you find that the main character moves fast. The controls are nimble and responsive. The combat is frenetic and some of the nurses are killed by grabbing and stabbing them.

Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway for the PS3 Game Review

FPS fans have an avenue to release their hot bloodedness. So do WW2 fans. And you don’t have to do two things. All you have to do is get a copy of Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway. This interesting take on World War 2 battle is also very different in that the makers vouch for it’s historical accuracy. The game glamorizes the war while honoring the veterans.

If you shoot a German in the head in this game, here is how the incredible graphics are likely to pan out. As you fire, the camera moves from the shooters viewpoint to a third persons viewpoint. Then the scene slows down as you see every little detail of the scene. If you are witness to grenade damage on level 2 then you will see the scene with every little gory detail intact.

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames For The PS3 Game Review

If slam bang boom violence is your thing then you will like Mercenaries 2. If it isn’t you won’t. You can cause tremendous destruction with dozens of unique vehicles. There are a number of attacks and a huge open space to do the stuff. However there are also game crippling bugs, really bad AI and gunplay that is unsatisfying. In addition a lousy story and repetitiveness plague this game.

Although you may enjoy the senseless violence a bit and online co-op play is fun, overall this is not a game that comes highly recommended. You can choose to be one of three mercenaries. The game is about a quest for vengeance. All this poor dude did was hire you and not pay. This one is a third person shooter.

Ferrari Challenge For The PS3 Game Review

Ferrari Challenge seems like a game from another time. Modern racing games mostly have a large number of cars in their roster. However Ferrari fans are going to love this one. The race physics of this game are awesome and the racing tracks are quite a few. However, it is difficult to say whether the focus on Ferraris is the best or worst aspect of the game. There is an effort to make it real, but the lack of variety in vehicles makes this difficult.

The main single player mode in the game is the F340 Challenge. It is a replication of real life meets across different racing tracks. It will take you about 4 hours to complete a season of racing. There are three available seasons.

Monster Madness: Grave Danger for the PS3 Game Review

Monster Madness: Grave Danger has been developed exclusively for the PS3. It is a redone version of the Xbox/PC – Monster Madness: Battle for Suburbia. In the earlier version there were some problems with the game control system as well as some camera issues. These problems are addressed in the new version. In addition fresh new content makes a debut in Monster Madness: Grave Danger.

Up to four players can play this game at one time. The control system is different in that you don’t attack with the shoulder mounted trigger buttons. Instead you have to point the right analog stick in the direction you want to fire. The challenges include killing things in a time limit etc.

Soulcalibur IV for the PS3 Game Review

Soulcalibur is back. With it comes the same fantastic system of fighting and an online mode as well. I would definitely recommend this game by Namco Bandai. Priced at $59.99, it is well worth every cent. Smooth hassle free online play with a wealth of characters makes this one great playable game. That is not all, this game is created for both newcomers or veterans and is playable by all.

The original Soulcalibur raised the bar for all games in the fantasy action genre. This one does that all over again. The characters are familiar and you can unlock new ones as you go along. Customize the characters as you please - the power is in your hands.

Overlord: Raising Hell for the PS3 Game Review

Published by Codemasters and developed by Triumph Studios, ‘Overlord: Raising Hell’ is a fantasy action-adventure game. The violence and language in the game has earned it a ‘Teen’ rating from ESRB. It was released for the Xbox 360 in mid 2007 and now twelve months down the line it is here in its PS3 version.

While you may think that in these 12 months, the game’s makers would have smoothened out its flaws to give a better upgraded version of the game, the answer is No! The Overlord for the PS3 ends up as a disappointing experience even though the original game’s downloadable content has been repackaged into a single-player campaign along with other minor additions.
