PS3 NBA 07 Review

Basketball lovers are in for a treat with the PS3 version of NBA 07. The graphics and details will please many game players. The game flows well. A Considerable change from the PS NBA games of the past is that in this version you take a shot by pushing the circle button. This one change makes a significant difference in the overall play of the game.

Just like in real hoops, you better practice your shot because it’s not easy to be consistent. The new PS3 controller works very well with this game. The visual to let you know when to shoot the ball is still on the NBA 07 game since this feature was well received on previous NBA video game releases.

You can play two skill levels – rookie and pro – in NBA 07. The game is extremely fast-paced, starting with a season, then the playoffs. Many NBA 07 gamers will be happy to hear that this game is online compatible, which means you can play basketball against competitors all over the world. For some added variety, the game comes with several shorter games to try. There are fewer than in previous NBA versions, but what is here is designed to provide you with hours of fun and entertainment.

On the court, gameplay is fast and furious. The 3-point shootout is good shooting practice, but for some reason it requires two players. NBA 07 does not include a career option, which is sure to disappoint many fans. That’s right, when your game is over, it’s really over. You will have to start over each time!

There is a fun replay of certain plays in the basketball games though that are really cool. It’s pretty cool to select your favorite NBA team and watch your the players you already know so well.

There is a great soundtrack with this game, but it only plays during the introduction and while the game is in pause mode. Announcers make realistic comments throughout the game about shots, fouls, and errors.

Gamers will be amused when they see the animated characters on the court talking to each other. The way players interact on the court has also been changed in this version. Past NBA games have been criticized because a few players on the court don’t follow the action. Even while shots are taken the players are looking the other way. This was a huge issue with real life NBA players who demanded the game to seem more real. Rest assured this issue has been resolved on the NBA 07 game.

The NBA 07 Playstation 3 game is easily worth $60. This game offers excellent graphics and quality games for a great value. Basketball fans will appreciate the realism as well as the online playing option. Those who have played other versions of Playstation NBA games will find that the upgrades and changes made to this newer version make it the best NBA game yet. Parents will enjoy this game too. There is no violence or anything else questionable in NBA 07, which provides a quality game that you can be comfortable allowing your kids to play.
